Mixed signals from people really suck. It’s hard to imagine that people can be that self-centered and so ignorant towards people’s emotions. I mean, we’re talking about actual people with feelings here. So how can you deal with mixed signals?
First of all you have to try to think about why a person might do this. Do they do this with lots of people and are they a big flirt with everyone? Or are they just doing it with you because it seems that they honestly can’t tell what they want with you?
It’s one of the most infuriating things in life, and I’ve been on the receiving end of it far too often. I’m tired of the games, and so I’ve learned that all you need is a strong resolve to push things forward.
If you’re struggling with someone and you’re wondering how to progress things, then you should cut to the chase: ask them out directly. Make them make a decision already. Cut through the bullshit. Ask them on a date and put it out there. Pull back, and watch them come after you again. It’s kind of strange all around.
Unless of course, you can stand playing around with a girl just for the hell of it, and not taking the mixed signals too hard. But therein lies the challenge – you would have to be a pretty seasoned dating vet not to let it get to you if you really liked someone.
I’m actually dealing with this right now. I have a girl that I’ve been kind of chasing and I’d asked her out several times and she always came, but our hangouts would turn into group events. Well, I gave up on her, and on New Year’s she kissed me. Full on walked across the room and made out with me, with no prompting from me whatsoever. What a joke. Well, I’m about to make her put her money where her mouth is and get real. I’m over being pulled around by my heartstrings. I’m going to ask her if she wants to go on a date. I will give her one more chance and if she doesn’t, then sayonara.
