Two men were killed in early morning Saturday shootings about two miles apart in East Oakland, police said.

Shortly before 3:25 a.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the 8400 block of San Leandro Street. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died.

About three hours later, officers were summoned to the 1500 block of 35th Avenue in response to reports of a man bleeding in the street. The victim died at a local hospital.

There have been at least 77 homicides in Oakland this year.

The identities of the victims were being withheld, pending notification of family. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call (510) 238-3821.
